Hello All!
Life has kept me pretty busy as of late. Working two jobs and going to school and preparing for Africa (which is like a 3rd and 4th job!!!) has truly humbled me and kept me on my toes! I know that I could not be successful with all of the responsibilities I have to do without all of your help. THANK you for your support, friendship, love, and kindness.
As the day gets closer for my departure I am able to get the things on my "Africa To-DO List" completed. This week I got my passport and started the first phase of all my shots. I'm not going to lie, my arms were definitely very sore and hurting for about 24 hours after those shots. BUT, it only makes this more of a reality and gets me even more excited. I have been to one training meeting in regards to Orphanages and working with children which was so amazing as we discussed games and songs and different ways of interacting and being a part of those children's lives this summer. I am also looking into developing a project with music and perhaps starting a choir with another volunteer while we are there.
Tomorrow I have training for "Intercultural Communication and Understanding Yourself as an Instrument" which should be exciting and helpful.
Tonight we had a Pancake Party (a Breakfast at Midnight Theme) which turned into a great time to talk to people about my upcoming summer plans. My goal is to talk to three new people every day about Africa. Everyone was super supportive and excited and I even got some money donated. Again, I feel so blessed with all the amazing people around me!
Two roads diverged in a wood and I, I took the road less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.--Robert Frost.
Together, we can in fact change this world we live in.
THANK YOU all for your support.
